This is a page from Charles Germain de Saint-Aubin's work "L'art du Bordeur." Charles-Germain de Saint-Aubin was King Louis XVs official designer of embroideries. The illustration at the top of the page depicts embroiderers working on ecclesiastical garments, but hanging on the wall is a mans coat or waistcoat, stretched and ready to be ornamented.
